Porada, the Company and its History

Porada was born from Luigi Allievi's vision of handcrafted and finished products in 1948.

The dream was rooted in the love of solid wood, which, worked with skill, transforms a simple trunk into a work of art. Thanks to this bond with the raw material, handed down to the children, the company was founded in 1968, to continue the dream begun years earlier.

Synonymous with quality, Porada has established a solid identity, expressing in its refined and modern design the idea of a design able to define the domestic ambience. Fundamental to Porada's entrepreneurial path is its ability to offer flexible solutions, able to fit different needs, finding the right combination of functionality and style.

A modern and sober look, ideal to offer products destined to last over time, which in half a century has made its founder's dream come true. A company at the forefront, both in terms of knowledge of materials and the use of advanced machinery, finds its true strength in its highly qualified staff.

Porada’s Style and Design Partners

Porada's design is marked by its elegant and functional lines and attention to details, clearly in its most iconic collections and in the versatility of the combinations. Solutions designed to welcome the end user, to fit into different home areas, blending into your compositions.

The Infinity table and the Louis armchair are an expression of Porada's thought, featured by their particular wooden structure. Also, a key product is also the Drift sideboard, a sideboard extendable in width, with an ash structure and black lacquered base.

These and many others represent the idea of a design, always trendy, which offers the chance to customize each solution through accessories and finishes.

The collections are wide and layered, made up of numerous products, developed thanks to the collaboration with partners and designers. Porada has made a winning choice, involving names such as Marconato and Zappa, David Dolcini, Gino Carollo and the Dainelli and Buratti studios.

Porada’s Products and Collections 

Conceived and manufactured according to high quality standards, Porada's collections offer modern decors solutions, suitable for both domestic and contract space. Products as sofas, armchairs, tables, sideboards, but also chests of drawers and other décor accessories and, more recently, lighting are part of its collections.

A concrete example of its style is the Myria bookcase, in solid canaletta walnut with smoked tempered glass shelves, available both individually and in pairs. Among Porada's proposals are chairs such as the Tiara chair with arms and structure in solid ash wood and upholstered seat.

Characterized by its strong scenic presence, the Eighteen collection offers a series of products with attention to detail and fine materials. Porada's transversality also finds space in the creation of products suitable not only for living areas, but also in offices and public spaces.

An example of Porada's transformable design is the Arena sofa and Argo modular, designed by David Dolcini, united by their ash wood essence. The in-depth study and research is present in products with timeless appeal, such as the Atlante sideboard, in canaletta walnut, available in ash with marble or glassl top.

Last but not least are the Koster coffee tables, designed by Steffan Tollgard, with a bronze finish metal frame and ash or Rock tops.

The Treedom Partnership and the Porada’s Eco-Sustainability Principles 

Green thinking, which has always been part of Porada's woodworking DNA, is a mindset that has been developing with new initiatives for years.

One of the most recent initiatives is the collaboration with Treedom, an online platform for remote tree planting. The trees in the "Porada Forest" number one thousand and are located in Ecuador, Tanzania, Madagascar and Kenya.

This is a long-term project, which envisages the installation of thousands more trees over the years. The aim is clear: give nature back its raw material, with a view to respecting the environment.

Thanks to this initiative, customers will become owners of the trees planted, and will have the opportunity to follow their evolution throughout their life cycle. A process that guarantees care and supervision of the trees in the years to follow, that Porada has decided to participate and develop.

Thanks to this contribution it will be possible to reduce CO2 emissions, supporting local economies, where the presence of forests is in danger of extinction. In short, a positive impact on the environment and on people, contributing to the growth of those economies, where it can make a difference.
