The Fornasetti brand was born in 1940s Milan through the visionary work of Piero Fornasetti—an artist, designer, and craftsman whose distinctive style was inspired by classical antiquity, surrealism, and endless visual curiosity. Among his most famous works is the Tema e Variazioni series, centered on the enigmatic face of opera singer Lina Cavalieri, reimagined in over 350 variations.

In the 1980s, his son Barnaba Fornasetti took over the artistic direction, preserving Piero’s legacy while evolving the brand into a modern design icon. Still family-owned and operating from its original workshop in Milan, Fornasetti remains a symbol of timeless creativity and artisanal excellence.
