Cattelan Italia, Brand and Tradition
Cattelan Italia’s story is a journey through the world of interior design — a blend of passion, innovation, and entrepreneurship. It all begins within a family of skilled craftsmen. Giorgio Cattelan, the youngest of seven brothers, grows up surrounded by the scent of wood. From his father, he inherits a love for quality materials and a deep respect for artisanal furniture making.
Design and Trends
In 1979, Giorgio and Silvia Cattelan establish Cattelan Italia, bringing together a shared appreciation for art and contemporary aesthetics. Giorgio brings entrepreneurial vision, while Silvia contributes elegance and cultural refinement. Their first creations — tables made of marble and glass — define a distinctive style. The brand's rapid growth leads to the opening of its first production site in Carrè (VI). By 1982, Cattelan Italia begins its global expansion, taking Italian design to an international audience.
The Collections
Cattelan Italia sets its sights on global markets. The brand is present in top design showrooms and participates in major international exhibitions, featured in the world’s leading design magazines. Paolo and Lorenzo, the founders' sons, join the company, carrying forward the same passion for fine furnishings. The collection features tables, chairs, sideboards, desks, bookcases, TV units, and more — all marked by original design and practical elegance. Signature pieces like the “Nasdaq” desk combine striking lines with functionality. The “Nahun” pendant lamp stands alone as a design feature, creating soft geometry through floating arches. The “Keramik” collection explores bold forms and advanced materials, showcasing a modern, recognizable identity.
Collaborations
Cattelan Italia thrives through collaborations with renowned designers. These partnerships infuse the catalog with unique, trend-forward pieces tailored to contemporary living. A constant dialogue between designers and artisans pushes the brand toward innovation in form, finish, and construction. The result is a design language that evolves with global trends, offering long-lasting, stylish furniture for sophisticated interiors.
