The Maralunga series was born from a conversation between Vico Magistretti and Cesare Cassina. Cassina wasn't happy with a armchair design and he punched its backrest. This gave Magistretti a brilliant idea. It became clear that a armchair could transform in functionality through the adjustability of its backrest. Maralunga's hallmark is its dual-function backrest—standing tall for conversations or reclining for relaxation. The ease of transition between these positions is fluid, making it user-friendly.

What adds to the chair's versatility is the individual adjustability of each seat's backrest. The magic lies in its construction.
