Giorgetti, the Company and its History
The origins of the company date back to the end of the nineteenth century, in a peasant context in the countryside of Meda, a small town in Brianza located north of Milan. The handicraft activity deeply linked to the territory, is due to the presence of the Benedictine monastery founded in the eighth century. It was often the site of important meetings and guests such as Emperor Henry IV. This condition made the industriousness of the nuns, the starting point for the realization of more and more valuable and quality furniture. The real turning point came at the turn of the twentieth century, when Meda established itself as a new center of furniture. Attracting artisans from the great schools of Paris, Milan and Venice. In this panorama of innovation and investment, Luigi Giorgetti began his activity. Founding a workshop that a few years later would become the first industrial building. In the following years, the arrival of new technologies and production methods, increased the diffusion of manufactured goods. Sources of inspiration for new models. Thanks to the success in exporting semi-finished products to the United States, Giorgetti improved the quality of its products. Though maintained the classic imprint in its products, reworking them according to new trends and needs. The '60s marked a new beginning for the production of furniture, which provided for the export of a worked and finished product. An example of iconic pieces is the Gazebo collection, which will arrive ten years later. A collection with a modern imprint, made according to a process of tradition and innovation. With the arrival of the 1980s, the collections followed a highly innovative movement, expressing the desire to experiment in total freedom. An example of this is the Matrix line, of which the Dry chair, designed by Massimo Morozzi, reflects Giorgetti's craftsmanship. The chair characterized by its completely dismountable design and the polychromy of its elements, outlines the fundamental pillars of Giorgetti. The continuous research and experimentation in new solutions. Promoter of art and knowledge, Giorgetti follows the path of using characters able to interpret and rework the "beautiful design" of the Italian tradition. A choice that can also be seen in the activities and institutional contents such as the products catalogue. Among the successful exhibitions, such as "Memory and Project" and the "Centenary Giorgetti", as well as countless cultural exhibitions, presented in centers and stores by distributing their catalogues made by international publishers, in bookstores. Giorgetti nowdays offers a unique style and identification of a brand recognized internationally, producing artifacts, suitable for any context both domestic and contract. The consolidated success all over the world, ignited the attention on Giorgetti's design and style as "Total look" for different types of environments. So that in 2011 it founded the first Atelier in Milan and six others in different countries: Antwerp, Mumbai, Singapore, Jakarta, Rome and Guangzhou. The development and research in new furnishing solutions, led Giorgetti to the contract field and announcing in 2018, the acquisition of "Battaglia Interior Contractors". An historic company specialized in residential, hôtellerie, retail and nautical interior design. The partnership with Battaglia shares the values of quality and precision made Giorgetti a reality of excellence. Which now aims to offer a turnkey service essential to meet the diverse needs of a market in continuous development. Designing in detail complex and large-scale residential and architectural solutions.
